Convention week and Making a Difference - Thank You

What a cute card from Convention
and perfect for this occasion

We received a Thank you letter in the mail today
for all of our Late Night Stampers who donated
your spare change
and for each of you who created a card at our Stamp Camp
and Reunion Party events
and donated them to our Ronald McDonald House.

Stampin Up demonstrators
Make a Difference
One card at a time!

Thanks again for sharing what you love

You have not lived a perfect day... unless you have done something for someone
who will never be able to repay you.

our Fall Service Project starts soon - sign up to host an event today

UPDATE (11/30/2009) - A BIG thank you to those of you who
participated in ANY way with this project.  Although it
has come to an end, may your service continue!!  I welcome
you to continue helping and serving those at the Ronald
McDonald house, or else where.  There are so many needs
and ways to serve.  You are all amazing people and I am so
grateful for your willingness to serve and help others.
THANK YOU!  You are welcome to continue donating
cards and/or blankets to your local Ronald McDonald
house or you can mail your donations to the Las Vegas
Ronald McDonald House (address is below)  ANY TIME
and she will see they are put to good use.
For your information, we donated 7,372 cards and 831 blankets.
 THANK YOU everyone!!!!!  ~ Melanie  : )

I am starting a new tradition here at SugarDoodle.
The last few months I have been thinking about
starting an annual service project and I am going
to go for it and hope you will join me.

I am teaming up with Sherrill Graff to help fill a
desperate need for homemade cards and blankets
for the Ronald McDonald house in Las Vegas
2323 Potosi Street  Las Vegas, NV 89146
Most parents with sick children can not afford to go
to the gift shop to buy a gift for their child. Your cards
would allow them to cheer up their children often during
their stay.  Most children are in ICU rooms....which means
they don't allow flowers and balloons; however,
they do allow cards :)

The houses also need little blankets to give each child
when they arrive. The blanket goes home with the child
when they leave the house after recovering
from their hospital stay.

Making Card for Kids - Helping put a smile on a childs face

Kind people of all ages get together to create cards for the kids. This event was held at UNLV in Las Vegas. We had over 30 people helping and  most of them were 7 - 23 years old.
We created over 50 cards to donate in just 2 hours.

Thanks for your help!

Each of us in the Las Vegas area who have a desire to Make A Difference in the lives of others have the opportunity to Run monthly card making events. You can be a Stampin Up demonstrator (Demonstrators- please sign up as a volunteer on the Stampin Up website) , a SU customer or just someone who loves paper crafts and wants to help put a smile on a child's face.

Here is how it works
You sign up for a month to be a host. That month you will earn a moving forward stamp set from me for "working" the event.
I can help you find a McDonalds near your area of town to host the event. We can go in together and talk to the manager to set up your card making day. We try and hold them before the lunch rush or after dinner hours so we don't interfere with their regular customers.
I can help you get the flyers and the "Ronald Boot" from our Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House and I'll help you run your cards for the kids event.  The house may even give you a free RMHouse T-Shirt to wear.

Each participant needs to bring a glue stick
Each participant will make 2 or more cards and they get to take one home to keep and donate the rest.

Thanks for sharing and caring,
Sherrill Graff istmpnv@aol.com
