TIME FOR A CHANGE OF COLOR

Stampin' Up! to renovate color collections with launch of 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog

SALT LAKE CITY-Color is uniquely personal. Some people are drawn to soothing, soft shades, and others relish energetic, vibrant colors. Regardless of color preference, Stampin' Up!'s renovated color collections available July 1, 2010 has something that everyone will love. The company extensively researched trends in fashion, design, paper crafting and home décor for almost two years in addition to holding focus groups with customers and demonstrators to decide on the palette of colors that would make up the color renovation.

Stampin' Up!, a manufacturer of decorative rubber stamps and accessories for greeting cards, scrapbooks, craft projects and home décor, is based in Salt Lake City and has almost 40,000 demonstrators worldwide who teach the art of paper crafting.

The renovated color collections will include 25 carryover colors, 10 returning In Colors (which are now core colors), 5 new core colors, and 5 new In Colors, for a total of 45 colors. The company will continue to offer five new In Colors each year, and In Colors will have a lifespan of two years. Colors are divided into four collections: Subtles, Brights, Regals and Neutrals.

"We're thrilled with our color renovation," notes Shelli Gardner, co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! "We've always been known for our color coordination. These new collections allow us to continue our commitment to that approach, and combine it with an exciting new line of fresh, vibrant colors. Each collection is so beautiful, people will have a hard time choosing which collection is their favorite."

The new color collections offer many versatile choices, and as always, include a wide variety of coordinating products and accessories. Whether you have a color collection already in mind, or you want to explore the options available in Stampin' Up!'s complete line, you'll want to see the exciting new world of color for yourself.

My Stampin Up story by Sherrill Graff

My story- Sherrill Graff

I became a demo in 1991. I jus t wanted to buy stamps for my daughter at a discount. I soon realized stamping wasn't just for kids.

When I started doing it as a business I borrowed stamp sets from my upline. (Who happens to be Shelli Gardner Co-Founder of Stampin Up)

I'd make samples and then return the stamps and she would give me more to use. I was in Heaven! My business began to grow and I became an upline myself.

My first recruit is Loni Spendlove. She is still active and has a good downline of her own. My second recruit is my Twin sister Michele Hillam.

Michele was the very first demonstrator in the Denver Colorado area she also has a wonderful downline.

The real challenges started right after our youngest son was born. His middle name is Sterling after Sterling Gardner Shelli's husband. He was 3 months old when my Dear Husband Mark (only 34 years old) had his first heart attack.

I promised God if he would save my husbands life I would be a good person and raise a righteous family. After 5 bypass surgery and 6 months of recovery he was back to himself again.

Thank God for HUGE blessings. I sold all my stamps and my husband sold a gun or two to help pay the bills. (He is a hunter) The stamps sold for 80% of retail so it was like having an extra savings account I didn 't know about. It's nice to know they hold their value. Our parents hel ped too. We both have wonderful giving parents. We had help from the church and the community programs to provide Christmas for our Dear Children.

3 years later my husband had another heart attack with Angioplasty. I thank God for modern medicine! We sold everything again to help pay the bills. Our parents helped us out again. We also had some help for Christmas this year as well.

3 years after that Mark had developed an aneurysm on one of his bypasses. It was like living with a time bomb wondering if this was they day he wouldn't return home from work. Soon after, he had yet, another heart attack!

This time we were waiting in the surgery waiting room when the doctor came out and said "there is nothing I can do" My mother in law and I looked at each other and started to cry thinking he was gone. The doctor said "oh, let me rephrase that, there is nothing I NEED to do! You have been given a miracle!"

Marks aneurysm was no longer a threat, it had clotted itself off. The artery they had bypassed in the first place had opened itself back up and his heart has grown 2 little veins that were feeding the back part of his heart. (Something that doesn't usually happen to heart patients until they are in their 50's)

We have truly been blessed!

God has stood by us, our families have stood by us, our friends have stood by us, Stampin Up has been there when I could do it and on the back burner when I couldn't. We are all healthy and happy. I thank Stampin Up for the wonderful Heart Set that raised such a nice donation for the Heart Association!

So you may ask why I give away stamps every Christmas? I have been doing it for years. It's so nice to share what I have. It's my little way of Thanking God, Thanking family and friends, and thanking Stampin Up for the joy they have brought to my life.

I am so glad I joined so many years ago. And just think, I signed up just for the discount!

The rest of the story. In 2009 Mark just went in and had 2 stents put in. The vessel that was giving him problems was 95% blocked, that vessel fed 2/3rds of his heart. No wonder he was having so much pain all the time.

I believe God gave us another Miracle.

Had Mark waited any longer he may have had a fatal heart attack.

Kenneth Sterling the baby at the beginning of our story is now 15 years old and almost 6 feet tall! We do have 2 daughters, 2 sons and a dear son in law.

Mark and I went to Hawaii compliments of Stampin Up in March of 2009. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in August. I am so thankful for all of our blessings, for a great family and wonderful friends like you.

Now it's 2010. I have found out what a real blessing Stampin Up has been in my life. It's always brought me joy and helped me make new friends but the best part is my little hobby has become my "real job"
It pays the house payment, the care payment, the insurance, and the power bill. How blessed we are to have this income.
My husband is currently unemployed. As he continues to look for work we know that our bills will be paid because of the blessings of God, a little hobby that I love and his income from unemployment. May each of you who are looking to turn your little hobby into a business be blessed to continue on the path and never give up.

May God bless you and your family,

Make Money by Hosting Product Parties - by Sarah Stebbins Women's Day Magazine, posted by Sherrill Graff

Make Money by Hosting Product Parties

Earn some extra cash by selling popular wares at home

By Sarah Stebbins Posted March 03, 2010 from WomansDay.com

These days, product parties have moved far beyond Tupperware. You can sell wine, jewelry, pet supplies and even toys at small, in-home gatherings, making several hundred dollars a pop. Most reps undergo some form of training, pay a start-up fee and work fewer than 10 hours a week. If you’re willing to commit more time and recruit others, you could be looking at a six-figure income. Not sure if selling is for you? Consider hosting a party. You’ll get to see what’s involved and receive a discount for your purchases. Read on to discover some of the most exciting opportunities out there.

Essential Bodywear
Did you know that 85 percent of us are wearing the wrong size bra? This is a problem that, as a representative of Essential Bodywear, you can help fix. “We take a chore women hate and don’t do—getting fit for a bra—and turn it into a fun and educational evening with your girlfriends,” says Lisa Collin, a consultant in Gurnee, Illinois. After a guest is measured and emerges (fully clothed) wearing her proper size, “you see a physical transformation—she actually looks taller and thinner,” Collin says. The company’s line, which also includes panties and shapewear, is not sexy, but looks great under clothes.
Cost to get started: $300
Reward: 25 percent commission.

Maddy Moo Creations
“Who wants to purchase a department store handbag, only to see three other women carrying the same one?” asks Shelly Stone of Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania, a consultant with design-your-own-bag company Maddy Moo Creations. When you attend a “purse party,” you get to try out (and dump your things into) dozens of different types of bags, then customize your choice by selecting from more than 50 fabrics, such as cheerful polka dots and paisleys. Complete the look with ribbon, a monogram, extra pockets or a longer strap. Each bag is handmade to order and shipped in a matter of weeks—what a concept!
Cost to get started: $80 to $150
Reward: 25 percent commission.

The Pampered Chef
One of the biggest players in the at-home selling industry, The Pampered Chef offers a winning formula: quick, tasty meals, plus good-quality cookware, tools and serving pieces. Consultants host “cooking shows,” with themes like comfort food or desserts, and teach guests how to make recipes and use the products, which are, of course, for sale (along with cookbooks, sauces and spice blends). Representative Lura Antokal of Park Ridge, New Jersey, views her job as a samaritan role: “I give busy moms like me ideas and tips that make their lives easier.”
Cost to get started: $155
Reward: 20 percent starting commission; potential to make up to 31 percent.

Shure Pets
How often do you get invited to an event with a plus-one for your pet? That’s part of the appeal of a Shure Pets “pupperware” party, where dogs and owners get to peruse and try products ranging from beds and collars to treats, toys and shampoo. (Cat lovers, don’t get into a hissy—there’s plenty here for you, too.) Entertainment is built into the mix. “I have yet to experience a ‘typical’ party,” says Minneapolis-based consultant Stephanie Thompsen. “With pets in attendance, there may be a game of chase or a barking chorus—there is never a dull moment!”
Cost to get started: $150
Reward: 25 percent starting commission; potential to make up to 27 percent.

Stampin' Up!
Our mothers and grandmothers had sewing circles, but our generation? Not so much. Stampin’ Up!, a supplier of tasteful coordinating papers, stamp sets and embellishments for scrapbooking and card-making, offers a modern-day equivalent. Women get together to chat, do a small craft and find inspiration for future projects. “All of our products go together so you can make something beautiful really fast,” says Robin Merriman of Bristow, Virginia, who leads workshops for the company. Most attendees leave “completely hooked,” she says.
Cost to get started: $99
Reward: 20 percent starting commission; potential to make up to 70 percent in cash and free merchandise

Stella & Dot
Picture a table dripping with stylish, affordable jewelry, the same stuff you may have seen in a fashion magazine or on a celebrity. Your friends are there, ogling along with you. That pretty much sums up a Stella & Dot party, which the company dubs a “trunk show.” But what else do you need? “I get paid to help women pick out something they love and connect with their girlfriends,” says Alison Fuller of Ladera Ranch, California, one of the company’s “stylists.” Her bestsellers include a silver braid necklace studded with pearls and gold chandelier earrings dotted with brightly colored enamel. ’Nuff said.
Cost to get started: $200
Reward: 25 percent starting commission; potential to make up to 30 percent.

WineShop At Home
Ever wish you could walk into a wine store and try before you buy? That’s the experience WineShop At Home offers at their tastings. As a consultant, you introduce guests to different reds and whites, created by the company’s own Napa Valley winemakers, and explain how to sniff, swirl and sip as well as pair varietals with food. Partygoers can then place orders or sign up for shipments from a monthly wine club. “We have replaced our corporate incomes and no longer have to be in an office for 10 hours a day,” says Tammy Nicholls of McKinney, Texas, who, with her husband, earns six figures working as a full-time rep. Cheers to that!
Cost to get started: $100 to $140
Reward: 15 percent starting commission; potential to make up to 44 percent.
