The splatter background stamp has been one of my favorites for years! The other stamp came from a stamp set we were given at Stampin Up's Leadership or Regionals this year.
For a workshop I would have taught just how to make the paper, then I'd have them make it into a 2 easy cards, one to keep and one to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.
I'd have them sponge the mustard ink around the edges, then I'd add some embossed splatters to dress up the page!
Rub the edge with the edge of the Encore pad to create a finished look.
Now to add a "sherrill touch" I'll teach you something cool....
Take the cookie sheet out and let the puddles cool
Lift the stamp and look how cool the image is. This stamp because of it's bold lined image is perfect for this technique. The technique is call multi layered embossing.
Trace the hodge podge hardware over the embossed image then trim it with scissors
Secure the brads through the holes in the hodge podge piece, Cut the ribbon at a angle so it will not show from the front. If I would have used my Stampin Up ribbon scissors, the ribbon would not have frayed.
I love it added to the page... what do you think?
Here it is on a card as well. Add a saying and it would be perfect. I didn't add a saying yet because these projects are for June events and I wanted to wait to see the discontinued stamp set list before adding a saying to this sample.
I sincerely hope you enjoyed this Sunday inspiration, I am thankful for such an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

I was able to rekindle friendships and build my customer base. I have a renewed excitement for what I do!"
First 13 assignments for May boot camp. Please print them out and check them off as you do them.I have often thought that some of the most common little things in our lives are the minutes that pass in each hour of the day. For each human being, time is indeed an indispensable resource. It can neither be ignored nor altered. We are compelled to spend it at a fixed rate of 60 minutes every hour. No spigot can be installed to regulate its flow, and no refilling device can replenish its quantity. The question is not one of managing the clock, but one of managing ourselves with respect to the time we have. Each minute is a little thing and yet, with respect to our personal productivity, to manage the minute is the secret of success.assignment 1.) Take the time to identify eight 15 minute blocks of time in each day for the entire week.Important little things that merit our attention are the small acts of service we perform for our fellowmenDo you take the time to remember some of the simple courtesies that are so important in relationships with others? Do you remember the smile, the compliment, the positive note, and the word of encouragement? We should do these important little things without hesitation.assignment 2.) Make a list of the people you associate with. Start with the people you see and talk to each and every day. Next make a list of the people you would see each week like your child's teacher, the teller at the bank, your postman and the waitress at your favorite restaurant. Then make a list of the people you haven't seen or spoken to in a while and would like to take the time to just say hello and see how they are doing.assignment 3) Create an assortment little Hello or Thank you cards large enough to hold a business card.Spencer W. Kimball said:I have learned that it is by serving that we learn how to serve. When we are engaged in the service of our fellowmen, not only do our deeds assist them, but we put our own problems in a fresher perspective. When we concern ourselves more with others, there is less time to be concerned with ourselves. So often, our acts of service consist of simple encouragement or of giving mundane help with mundane tasks, but what glorious consequences can flow from mundane acts and from small but deliberate deeds! God does notice us, and he watches over us. But it is usually through another person that he meets our needs. Therefore, it is vital that we serve each other in the kingdomThe perfect card example is on page 194 in your Stampin Up catalog. A solid colored cardstock stamped with a background stamp in the same color. A die cut heart, a punched out heart, and the words thank you. I would use our word window punch to cut out the words thanks so much on page 139, or the words thank you from page 141, or the words thinking of you, thank you or just for you from the teeny tiny wishes set on page 145.Use slit punch #42 on page 187 to make a place inside to hold your business card.If you believe in God you will appreciate these wordsBut behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to passIt's the little thing you do or don't do that will make a big difference in these assignments. The little things you do today when combined with what you do each week, will grow your team and build your business.Once you make your little cards keep them with you and give them out throughout the week.If you wish to make a big impact you will need a large quantity of these cards.Remember to keep them simple!!!! We will be using these cards in other ways later on.At the end of each day look over your list of people from assignment 2 and mark the ones you gave thank you cards to.______Do more of what works and less of what doesn't Could anything be more plain than this? Do not let the simplicity of this strategy make you doubt it.If you are feeling that your business is stagnate or stale, stop and rediscover the techniques you used in times past when you were initially building your business relationships. With few exceptions, they will still work.assignment 4) Go back to the list of people you made. If you don't already have your past and present customers on the list, add them. You can also add people in groups like Teachers that go to school with my children, or members in my women's club etc. Most of us enjoy being around someone who builds us up and makes us feel good. Using words of encouragement, love, respect, courtesy , appreciation, admiration, and gratitude as we talk with one another wi ll motivate us to spend more time together. Most relationships die from neglect.assignment 5) Think of things you can do that will improve or rekindle your relationships.Take the time to think about ways we can touch the lives o f those around us. Write them down and work on them. Each day you may add to your prayers "Help me to touch the life of others in a positive way. Help me to be inspired to know who to reach out to and who to serve. Then keep track of the little things you do so you can watch your progress. How much do you know about them?Plan to spend time together. What do they like to do?How many of the people you have listed enjoy activities like stamping or scrapbooking? How many of them enjoy spending their lunch time with friends? How many enjoy a weekly Friday Night activity? What are their hobbies? Do you know their favorite color? Do you know anything about their children? Do you know what the names of their pets are?assignment 6) Take the time to write a little "Getting to know you" surveyAsk only 5-10 questions .... Keep it simpleQuestions may include:When is the last time you went to lunch with a friend? What is your favorite food? What kinds of greeting cards do you find most needed? example: thank you, birthday, holiday cardsWhat is your favorite childhood memory? If you had more free time each day what new hobby would acquire? What family activities are your favorite to scrapbook? What are the ages of your children?Would you mind sharing your favorite family recipe?assignment 7) send this "Getting to know you" survey to your friends and customers.See how many reply.Send this out using e-mailThen, make this survey into a little 1/2 page flyer and pass it out at each event, make sure you add a place for them to write their name, phone # and e-mail address.People you know will be happy to give you this information if you make it fun and less like business. If you want to get more of these surveys back add a line on the bottom that each returned survey will be adding into your monthly drawing. The prize could be as simple as some dies cut from your big shot.assignment 8) add one more fun event to this weeks calendarThe answers to your survey may help you see what type of activity to add.A no brainer is to add a card making activity if you added the question, What kinds of greeting cards do you find most needed? example: thank you, birthday, holiday cards to your survey.Or you may chose to add a Family Favorite scrapbook event to your calendar if your customers need to make some quick and easy scrapbook pages to get caught up.Assignment 9) e-mail "Save th is date" invitations to your friends (with photos)Please mark your calendar for May 26th for "Best Friends Birthdays" card making activity. We will be making quick and easy card and projects. Please bring your adhesive. This event is FREE to everyone who brings one friend or to everyone who places a small order.Keep your refreshments simple like M&M's and pretzels with lemon water. This quick and easy workshop should only take 1 1/2 hours from start to finish. I have found when I have shorter events more people come more often; they like not having to use up and entire evening!Need ideas for your events? Look in our catalog!Demos who use the catalog for their ideas seem to also teach their customers how useful our idea book is as well. If you don't give away a catalog with every order, you may consider doing so. The more people who own your catalog the more potential orders you may get.Consider making the little thank you gifts on page 95, page 112 or page 178 of the Stampin Up catalog.Have them make one card and one gift bag, that is it! You don't even need to give them anything to put into it.If you wish to have a better turn out include photos of what you will be making in your invitations!I had a friend say to me on two different occasions, "my husband will be happy that I'm getting home early"It was only 8pm and he didn't expect me until 9:30If you are going to keep your friends out on Friday nights, Keep it short and sweet!!!!!!I have noticed she is coming more often now that our events are only 1 1/2 - 2 hours including driving time!I challenge you to make your events quick, easy and more often!_______Do what you can - Just AskWe dont have to be better than someone else. All we have to do is to be the very best we can.We dont have to be fast; we simply have to be steady and move in the right direction. We have to do the best we can, one step after another regardless of your disabilities, limitations, or insecurities._____________Most motivation on the part of a customer, potential downline or current downline member has to be tied to a need. Identify the needs of your customers and downline so you can help them find the answers to their questions and problems. The best way to find out if they have a need is to ask.assignment 10) Send an e-mail to your customers asking "How can I help you"what gift giving or greeting card needs will you have over the next few months? We are all engaged in the process of finding and retaining new customersCustomers and Downline members need an opportunity to serve.assignment 11)Add another event to your calendar and invite your customers. This time, have your customers bring what they have made last week at home to show at this weeks event.Have them display their works of art with yours. Make sure during the event to thank everyone who brought samples to share.Next time, Have your customers bring a small 3X3 card project to share. As your customers get used to sharing, they should feel good about helping out.Getting your customers involved in your workshops will help them see how fun and easy it is to do what you do.Compliment them on the things they do well, be sincere.assignment 12) Write an e-mail to them after each event and thank them personally for their help. Let them help a few times always thanking them for sharing their talent. If they continue to show an interest in helping ask them to host a workshop or event. Remind them that they can have their event in a restaurant or library if they don't wish to use their home.assignment 13) After every workshop ask the hostess to join your team. Have faith in your products and your abilities.Don't be afraid of offending somebody. Just ask!Continue to work with those who express interest even if they have declined your offer. Most of the time they are unsure of their abilities and need a little more encouragement.want more ideas? follow this blog or join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LNSBootCamp/

To us, the Ronald McDonald House was always just that box where we dropped our change at the drive-thru. That changed, as did our lives, in March of 1999 when we were told that our daughter Amber (11) had a severe narrowing in the artery that delivers blood to her lower body. We were sent to the Ronald McDonald House in Las Vegas by her cardiologist and found that everything was all set up and the staff was waiting for us. After her surgery, Amber spent a week in I.C.U., and the Ronald McDonald House took care of me, my wife Robin, and our two sons P.J. and Max by providing us a comfortable, “homey” atmosphere that greatly reduced our stress. In October 1999, Robin, Amber and I were again welcomed by the Ronald McDonald
House when Amber had a heart catheter procedure. We were told that the ends of the graft placed in her aorta in March were closing because of scar tissue and we had to take her to San Francisco for a special procedure. Then on March 2, 2002, one of Amber’s stints shifted and cut a hole in her aorta and esophagus. She lost over half of her blood and developed a severe bacterial infection in her bloodstream. She had emergency surgery that afternoon. As I write this, I am sitting at a table in the dining room of the House in Las Vegas where I have shared meals for the last 45 days with my family, the staff and volunteers of the House. I am not sure how long Amber will be in the hospital, or how long after her release we will stay here. But I am sure that no matter how long it may be, the staff and volunteers will be here for us. These people will forever be in our hearts. We will continue to stop in just to say “hi” or try to help with fundraisers for this miraculous team of people. I cannot think of any words that express it as deeply as we feel it, so I must simply say “Thank You.”

First I would like to say THANK YOU for the AWESOME SUPER FANTASTIC Big Shot that I now own! WOOHOO I don’t have to borrow my friends anymore! J I have to say I have been having a GREAT time with it! So much I am wondering if they ever wear out.. because I might just do that ha-ha!
Second, I am getting ready to package up and send off your white cardboard that you asked for. .... I do have A LOT to send you still.
However! a friend of mine do up some build-a-bears with their own set of clothes for a craft show to give to kids. Well, as in a busy life she forgot to take them and I didn’t want her to throw them out and immediately thought of you. Could you use them for your project? I also have some extra bear clothes that I cut out using her big shot ages ago and have not finished the project I started with them… I am so busy now with my business after taking your boot camp that I probably won’t get the time to finish it to be honest so if you would like to have some pre-cut build-a-bear things let me know and I will put them in the box with the cardboard as well.
