Stampin Up Hawaii trip and a day spent in service

Our Stampin Up Hawaii incentive trip was wonderful and relaxing.

Stampin up gave us so many gifts. This little box was full of stamps and merchandise.
Look for more photos soon....
I spent the day in service to family and customers.

Sales were good and much progress was made.

I finished all my work and had time for a monopoly game with my 14, 17 and 20 year old!

I lost, but that's ok.

It was sure fun and we had lots of laughs!!!

Tomorrow I will be working on involving others ~ L.I.S.T

For all of you who wish to play along

the tasks are easy and very productive.

To do this task you will need a current copy of your event calendar

with a letter on the other side showing a selection of samples from your upcoming workshops.

Don't use the full photo just a spotlight of part of the sample to peak customer curiosity.

Your letter can read something like this.

Dear friend,I'm delighted to tell you about a few of my fun classes and stamping for charity events and would like to invite you to view the sneak peak photos as well as the calendar on the back side of this page.

I have include a few extra invitations for you to please share with your friends.

You will be entered into my drawing for $30 in free merchandise for EVERY friend you send/give an invitation to.

Please e-mail me to let me know how many invitations you sent out so I can add your name to the drawing for each and every one.

You will also be entered twice into our door prize drawing when you bring one or more of your friends along to any event.

If you bring two friends your name will be entered two additional times.

Thanks for sharing your love for stamping

See you soon, Sherrill

Don't forget to include all of your contact information on your calendar before you print it.

Cards for the kids - Please help

Demonstrators all over the world make cards for the kids.
Stampin Up donates a large amount to our Ronald McDonald house charities each year.
The photo on the right is Shelli making party masks with the big shot. The photo below her is a band playing for us at convention 2008.

The Ronald McDonald house really loves donation of handcrafted cards but will also accept card fronts from store bought cards.

When doing a card drive in your church, ward or stake, It would be easy to announce that you are collecting cards at the beginning of any month and have them all ready to send by the end of the month.

We do a card event in our LDS Church ward each year, all the members and families are welcome to come participate. We have a sample of each card and the supplies to make it at each table. We have 20 different cards and about 30-50 supplies of each one.
Members donate the supplies and the church donates the glue sticks. go here to see if you have a house near you.

If you don't you can always send your cards to me to be delivered to our RMH here in Las Vegas. The cards are given to family members while they stay at the house.

The parents write cards for their child during their hospital stay, which puts a smile on the child's face. They also send thank you cards home to family members and friends who are watching their other children. Some of the cards are used to thank volunteers who help out at the house, cooking cleaning or serving the children.
Charity is the pure love of Christ.
May God bless you for all you do, and for all the service you give.

Artist Spotlight - Julie Semones

My name is Julie Semones and I’ve been married to Dave for almost 11 years. I have an almost 21 year old son from a previous marriage and Dave and I have a daughter together, who is 9 ½.

I have a been a Stampin’ Up! Demo for less than a year. My SU! anniversary is in May.

When I was first introduced to SU! I wasn’t quite sure I’d like, but little by little I realized I was addicted to the stamps and ink and colors and well just everything!

I had always only really ever made scrapbook pages and now cards are my passion. I am currently trying to get some classes/workshops rolling at our church, and have a group of gals that meet once a month.

My love of Stampin’ Up! Products has stretched to my daughter as well. She LOVES using my stamps/inks, and always asks permission first J I LOVE being able to share my love of rubber stamping with her. {My SU! Blog}

Artist Splolight- Gretchen Barron

Hi, My name is Gretchen Barron and I've been stamping and scrapbooking for more than 15 years now. Two years ago had an opportunity to see a new Stampin' Up! Catalog (I hadn't seen one in years) and was hooked! I decided to become a demonstrator and fell in love with card-making and paper-crafting all over again. I've been so fortunate to meet hundreds of wonderful people, both locally and around the world, through the work that I do and the inspiration
I share on my blog, Inspiration in Action.

One thing that I love most is the creative process and giving myself over to that process. It truly amazes me what one can do with a little bit of paper, some stamps and ribbons and embellishments.
I get such a thrill out of trying new color combinations and discovering new ways of doing things. I love as well that the projects I create help to inspire others and help them to express their own creativity through their art. I am a single mother and have a nine-year-old daughter who provides me with constant inspiration for scrapbook pages and other projects. I am also a pastor and consider the creative work that I do an extension of the ministry I share with others.

My story- Sherrill Graff

My story- Sherrill Graff

I became a demo in 1991. I just wanted to buy stamps for my daughter at a discount.I soon realized stamping wasn't just for kids.

When I started doing it as a business I borrowed stamp sets from my upline. (Who happens to be Shelli Gardner Co-Founder of Stampin Up)

I'd make samples and then return the stamps and she would give me more to use. I was in Heaven! My business began to grow and I became an upline myself.

My first recruit is Loni Spendlove. She is still active and has a good downline of her own. My second recruit is my Twin sister Michele Hillam.

Michele was the very first demonstrator in the Denver Colorado area she also has a wonderful downline.

The real challenges started right after our youngest son was born. His middle name is Sterling after Sterling Gardner Shelli's husband. He was 3 months old when my Dear Husband Mark (only 34 years old) had his first heart attack.

I promised God if he would save my husbands life I would be a good person and raise a righteous family. After 5 bypass surgery and 6 months of recovery he was back to himself again.

Thank God for HUGE blessings. I sold all my stamps and my husband sold a gun or two to help pay the bills. (He is a hunter) The stamps sold for 80% of retail so it was like having an extra savings account I didn't know about. It's nice to know they hold their value. Our parents helped too. We both have wonderful giving parents. We had help from the church and the community programs to provide Christmas for our Dear Children.

3 years later my husband had another heart attack with Angioplasty. I thank God for modern medicine! We sold everything again to help pay the bills. Our parents helped us out again. We also had some help for Christmas this year as well.

3 years after that Mark had developed an aneurysm on one of his bypasses. It was like living with a time bomb wondering if this was they day he wouldn't return home from work. Soon after, he had yet, another heart attack!

This time we were waiting in the surgery waiting room when the doctor came out and said "there is nothing I can do" My mother in law and I looked at each other and started to cry thinking he was gone. The doctor said "oh, let me rephrase that, there is nothing I NEED to do! You have been given a miracle!"

Marks aneurysm was no longer a threat, it had clotted itself off. The artery they had bypassed in the first place had opened itself back up and his heart has grown 2 little veins that were feeding the back part of his heart. (Something that doesn't usually happen to heart patients until they are in their 50's)

We have truly been blessed!

God has stood by us, our families have stood by us, our friends have stood by us, Stampin Up has been there when I could do it and on the back burner when I couldn't. We are all healthy and happy. I thank Stampin Up for the wonderful Heart Set that raised such a nice donation for the Heart Association!

So you may ask why I give away stamps every Christmas? I have been doing it for years. It's so nice to share what I have. It's my little way of Thanking God, Thanking family and friends, and thanking Stampin Up for the joy they have brought to my life.

I am so glad I joined so many years ago. And just think, I signed up just for the discount!

The rest of the story. Now it's 2009 Mark just went in and had 2 stents put in. The vessel that was giving him problems was 95% blocked, that vessel fed 2/3rds of his heart. No wonder he was having so much pain all the time.

I believe God gave us another Miracle.

Had Mark waited any longer he may have had a fatal heart attack.

Kenneth Sterling the baby at the beginning of our story is now 14 years old and almost 6 feet tall! We do have 2 daughters, 2 sons and a dear son in law.

Mark and I will be going to Hawaii compliments of Stampin Up in a few weeks. We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. I am so thankful for all of our blessings, for a great family and wonderful friends like you.

May God bless you and your family, Sherrill Graff
